Lesson 11 Helping Hands for a Better World

날씨가 맑고 선선했다.

우리 반은 자원봉사 활동을 하기 위해 시립 어린이집을 방문했다.

먼저 우리는 어린이집을 청소했고 아이들과 놀아주었다.

그러고 나서 나는 아이들에게 이야기를 읽어 주었다.

나는 그 아이들이 내가 해 주는 이야기를 좋아해서 행복했다.

내가 아이들에게 작별 인사를 했을 때, 아이들은 슬퍼 보였다.

집으로 가는 길에 나는 아이들에 대해 계속 생각했다.

나는 아이들을 위해 특별한 무언가를 하고 싶다.

오늘은 동아리 활동의 날이었다.

나는 인형 만들기 동아리 회원들에게 내가 2주 전에 만났던 아이들에 대해 이야기 했다.

우리는 그들을 위해 인형극을 상연하기로 결정했다.

우리는 인형극에서 사용할 인형을 만들기 시작했다.

우리는 월요일과 수요일마다 우리의 인형극을 위해 연습하기로 약속했다.

우리가 많이 연습하면 할수록 우리의 공연은 더 나아질 것이다.

얼마나 멋진 날인지!

우리 동아리 회원들과 나는 매우 흥분했다.

우리가 어린이집에 갔을 때, 어린이집은 풍선으로 가득 차 있었다.

시원이가 풍선 예술 동아리 회원들과 어린이집을 꾸미고 있었다.

놀랍게도 우리 모두는 거기에 같은 이유로 와 있었다.

마침내 우리 동아리 회원들과 나는 인형극을 상연했다.

아이들이 그 공연을 정말로 좋아했다.

우리도 즐거웠다.

공연이 끝난 다음에, 우리는 그 인형들을 아이들에게 주었다.

우리는 내년에는 아이들을 더 자주 방문하고자 노력할 것이다.

나는 우리가 그 아이들을 자주 방문하면 할수록 그 아이들이 더 행복해질 것이라고 믿는다.

Lesson 11 Helping Hands for a Better World

It was sunny and cool.

My class visited the city day-care center to do volunteer work.

First, we cleaned up the center and played with the children.

Then I read a story to them.

I felt happy because they liked my storytelling.

When I said good-bye to the children, they looked sad.

On my way home, I kept thinking about the children.

I want to do something special for them.

Today was Club Activity Day.

I told my doll-making club members about the children who I met two weeks ago.

We decided to put on a puppet show for them.

We started making the dolls which we will use in the show.

We promised to practice for our puppet show on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The more we practice, the better our show will be.

What a great day!

My club members and I were very excited.

When we got to the center, it was full of balloons.

Siwon was decorating it with his balloon art club members.

Surprisingly, we were all there for the same reason.

Finally, my club members and I put on our puppet show.

The children really liked the show.

We enjoyed ourselves, too.

After the show, we gave the dolls to the children.

We will try to visit the children more often next year.

I believe that the more often we visit them, the happier they will be.
