직업 체험의 날 

지난 주, 미담중학교에서는 ..직업 체험의 날..을 가졌다. 학생들은 자신이 관심 있는 직업을 골라서 그 직업을 가진 사람들과 하루를 보냈다. 지호는 미용사와 하루를 보냈고, 미나는 하루 동안 사진 기자를 따라다니기로 했다. 

송 선생님의 미용실은 사당동에 있었다. 내가 그곳에 도착했을 때, 송 선생님은 이미 일을 시작하기 위한 준비를 하고 계셨다. 한 여성이 어린 남자아이와 함께 들어왔다. 송 선생님은 그 아이를 의자에 앉히셨다. 남자아이는 가위를 보자마자 울기 시작했다. 송 선생님은 아이를 안심시키고 놀라운 속도로 머리카락을 자르셨다. 

나는 서울 월드컵 경기장에서 Daily Sports의 사진 기자인 한 선생님을 만났다. 

한 선생님은 한국과 일본의 축구 경기에서 사진을 찍을 예정이셨다. 나는 한 선생님과 사진 기자 구역에 앉았다. 경기가 진행되는 동안 선생님은 말씀을 많이 하지 않으셨다. 선생님은 사진을 찍는 데만 집중하셨다. 

송 선생님은 오전에 바쁘셨다. 그녀는 ..나는 보통 점심 먹을 시간이 없어요...라고 말씀하셨다. 오후 3시쯤, 그녀는 마침내 휴식을 취하셨다. 선생님은 친절하게도 나에게 어떻게 가위를 잡고 머리를 자르는지 보여주셨다. 

사람들이 경기를 즐기고 있는 동안, 한 선생님은 사진 찍는 것을 결코 멈추지 않으셨다. 한국 팀이 한 골을 넣었을 때, 모든 사람들이 환호했다. 그러나 한 선생님은 침착하게 계속해서 사진을 찍으셨다. 

나는 떠나기 전에, 송 선생님께 ..선생님의 직업에서 가장 좋은 점이 무엇인가요?.. 

라고 여쭤보았다. 선생님은 ..음, 나는 새로운 머리 모양에 행복해 하는 사람들을 보는 게 좋아요...라고 말씀하셨다. 

경기가 끝난 후, 한 선생님은 내게 사진들을 보여주셨다. 놀랍게도, 선생님은 경기 중에 500장 이상의 사진을 찍으셨다. 선생님은 ..만약 훌륭한 사진 기자가 되고 싶다면, 항상 카메라를 들고 다니면서 가능한 많은 사진을 찍으세요...라고 말씀하셨다.

Unit 9 What Are You Interested In? 

Job Shadowing Day 

Last week, Midam Middle School had Job Shadowing Day. The students chose jobs they were interested in and spent a day with people who had those jobs. Jiho spent the day with a hair designer, and Mina chose to follow a photographer for a day. 

Ms. Song's hair shop was in Sadang-dong. When I arrived there, she was already setting things up to start the day. A woman entered with a little boy. 

Ms. Song sat him down in a chair. As soon as the boy saw the scissors, he started to cry. Ms. Song comforted him and cut his hair at a surprising speed. 

I met Mr. Han, a photographer for Daily Sports, at Seoul World Cup 

Stadium. He was supposed to take pictures at a soccer game between Korea and Japan. I sat in the photographers' area with Mr. Han. During the game, he didn't talk much. He just focused on taking pictures. 

Ms. Song was busy in the morning. She said, "I usually don't have time for lunch." Around 3 pm, she finally had a break. She was kind enough to show me how to hold scissors and cut hair. 

While people were enjoying the game, Mr. Han never stopped taking pictures. When the Korean team scored a goal, everyone cheered. But Mr. Han was calm and continued to take pictures. 

Before I left, I asked her, "What is the best part of your job?" She said, "Well, I like to see people who are happy with their new hairstyle." 

After the game, he showed me the pictures. Amazingly, he took more than 500 pictures during the game. He said, "If you want to become a good photographer, carry your camera all the time and take as many pictures as you can."
