8월 1일
이번 여름 방학은 지금껏 최고의 방학이 될 것이다. 나는 멕시코의 칸쿤에 갈 것이다! 우리 삼촌이 거기에 사셔서 우리 가족은 삼촌을 방문할 것이다. 나는 아주 신이 난다. 만약 내가 날개가 있다면, 날아갈 텐데!
8월 5일
나는 비행기를 세 번 갈아탔고 17시간 이상 걸렸다! 그러나 나는 피곤하지 않았다. 나는 많은 영화를 봤고 맛있는 식사를 했다. 이것은 거기로 가는 도중에 우리 아빠의 모습이다.
8월 6일
와! 이것은 우리 삼촌 집 바로 앞에 있는 해변이다. 해변의 아름다운 색을 보라. 물은 정말 투명하고 파랗고, 모래는 정말 하얗다. 그거 아니? 그것은 모래가 아니다. 그것은 정말 작은 산호 조각들이다.

어느 나라가 세계에서 가장 많은 피라미드를 갖고 있는지 맞춰 봐. 놀랍지! 그것은 이집트가 아니라 멕시코이다! 나는 세계의 새로운 7대 불가사의 중 하나인 ..치첸이트사..를 보러 갔다. 이것이 거기에 있는 ..엘 카스티요..피라미드이다. 이 피라미드는 뾰족한 이집트의 피라미드와 달라 보인다. 그렇지 않은가? 각각의 네 면에 91개의 계단이 있다는 것을 아는가? 만약 꼭대기 부분을 하나의 계단으로 더한다면 총 365개의 계단이 있다. 사촌은 내게 각 계단이 일 년 중 하루를 나타낸다고 말씀하셨다. 모든 계단을 오른 후에, 나는 한 살 더 먹은 느낌이었다!
8월 8일
우리는 멕시코 식당에 갔다. 나는 ..파히타..라고 불리는 맛있는 음식을 먹어보았다. 그것은 마치 한국의 쌈과 같았지만, 채소 대신에 ..토르티야..라고 불리는 아주 얇은 빵에 싸여 있었다. 나는 또한 ..할라페뇨.. 고추도 먹어 보았다. 그것은 한국의 고추처럼 길거나 가늘지 않고 짧고 둥근 모양이었다. 종업원은 나에게 그것이 맵다고 말했지만, 그것은 귀여워 보였다. 그래서 나는 하나를 먹어보았다. 내 입에서 불이 뿜어져 나오고 있는 것이 보이는가?
8월 9일
동굴에서 수영을 해 본 적이 있는가? 그것은 놀라운 경험 이었다! 우리가 동굴에 있을 때, 내 남동생인 지호가 ..조심해, 수진 누나! 누나 바로 위에 뱀이 있어!..라고 소리쳤다. 나는 너무 무서워서 전혀 움직일 수가 없었다. 다행히도, 그것은 그냥 농담이었다. 나중에 나는 지호에게 그의 머리 위에 도마뱀이 있다고 말했지만, 그는 내 말을 믿지 않았다. 재미있는 것은 내가 농담을 하고 있지 않았다는 것이다! 그가 달아나고 있는 것을 보라. 하하!

Hello, Mexico!

August 1

This summer vacation is going to be the best vacation ever. I'm going to Cancun, Mexico! My uncle lives there and my family is going to visit him. I'm so excited. If I had wings, I would fly!

August 5

I changed planes three times and it took more than 17 hours! But I wasn't tired. I saw many movies and had

delicious meals. This is what my dad looked like on the way there.

August 6

Wow! This is the beach right in front of my uncle's house. Look at the beautiful colors of the beach. The water is so clear and blue, and the sand is so white. You know what? It's not sand. It is really small pieces of coral. Here I'm swimming with colorful fish and coral. I felt as if I were in the movie, Finding Nemo.

August 7

Guess which country has the most pyramids in the world. Surprise! It's not Egypt, but Mexico! I went to see the Chichen Itza, one of the new seven wonders of the world. This is the El Castillo pyramid there. This pyramid looks different from the pointy Egyptian pyramids, doesn't it? Do you know that there are 91 steps on each of the four sides? If you add the top part as one step, there are 365 steps in total. My uncle told me that each step represents a day of the year. After I climbed all the steps, I felt one year older!

August 8

We went to a Mexican restaurant. I tried a yummy dish called fajitas. They were just like Korean ssam, but they were wrapped in really thin bread called tortilla instead of vegetables. I also tried jalapeno peppers. They weren't long and thin like Korean peppers but short and round. The waiter told me that they were hot, but they looked cute. So I tried one. Can you see the fire coming out of my mouth?

August 9

Have you ever swum in a cave? It was an amazing experience! When we were in the cave, my brother Jiho shouted, "Watch out, Sujin! There's a snake right above you!" I couldn't move at all because I was so scared. Luckily, it was only a joke. Later I told Jiho that he had a lizard on his head, but he didn't believe me. The funny thing is I wasn't kidding! Look at him running away. Haha!!

August 10

This is a traditional Mayan show! We danced, sang, and played sports like the ancient Mayans. This is a man with traditional Mayan body paint. I think my father looks scarier!

What a great week! I wish I could stay longer. I'll miss you, Mexico!
